The 3 Series is the car most people picture when they think of a BMW — rear-drive balance, a properly finished cabin and a badge that still means something on the drive. LMC Cars stocks 3 Series saloons and Tourings in Upminster, Essex, all inspected, warrantied and ready to drive away.
Every executive saloon gets measured against the 3 Series, and used is where it makes the most sense. The steering and body control that justified the price when it was new are still there several years and several owners later, and depreciation has done the expensive part for you. It is a car that rewards being bought carefully rather than cheaply.
Most of what we take in is M Sport, which is the specification Essex buyers actually ask for — firmer suspension, the sports seats and the body kit. Alongside the saloon we stock the Touring estate, which keeps the same drive and adds a genuinely usable boot.
The 330e plug-in hybrid is the one to look at first if you drive in and around London. It pairs the 2.0 petrol with an electric motor for a real electric-only range on short trips, sits in a low benefit-in-kind band if you run it through a company, and is ULEZ compliant. It is the version we stock most often.
The 320i petrol is the simpler, cheaper way in — smooth, quiet and cheap to maintain, and a sensible choice if most of your driving is local. The 320d diesel still makes sense if you cover serious motorway miles, where it will comfortably better anything else in the range on a long run.
Our 3 Series stock generally sits between roughly £13,000 and £21,000, which covers cars from around 2020 onwards. Where a particular car lands in that range comes down to mileage, specification and whether it is a plug-in hybrid. Higher-mileage cars are not automatically the weaker buy — a well-maintained motorway car with a full history is often a better car than a low-mileage one that has only done short trips.

Every car is HPI-checked, put through a workshop inspection, MOT'd where needed, and valeted before it is advertised. On the 3 Series we pay particular attention to service history — these are cars that reward regular oil changes — and on the 330e we check the hybrid system and charging behaviour rather than taking the dashboard's word for it.
Every car leaves with a warranty and 12 months' AA breakdown cover as standard, and we are an AA Approved Dealer, which means the AA audits how we prepare and sell cars rather than us simply saying we do it well.
