Keeping your car in shape in lockdown

Your car may have been sat on the drive for the best part of a year and while we are still in lockdown, or partial lockdown, it is important to keep your car in tip top shape. Here are some ways you can keep on top of things…

Regular checks

Make regular checks on your car from things like the lights to the engine starting. You would usually check your vitals every week or two so think about doing this, even if you are not heading out anywhere. Don’t neglect things like tyre pressure too!

Running it out

If your car is on the road or the drive for extended periods of time, give it a run around the block every couple or few days to make sure there is still some GO inside. It is unlikely that the battery will die but you want to avoid the possibility of that where possible!

Clean and tidy

It might be a good opportunity to have a clean out and tidy up. From water bottles to crisp packets and maybe bringing out the polish, look after your car and maybe spruce it up while it is out of use.

Ready to go

After you have cleaned, tidied and checked the vitals, make sure you have everything you need inside to hit the road as and when you can – and want to. Whether that’s a coat in the back or a pair of walking shoes, some de-icer or some suncream, cover all bases and get ready to head out again.

Those are just some of our tips. If you have more we would love for you to share them with us!
